Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about publishing with Vokolla.
How do I submit a press release?
Here is the whole path:
1) Open Submit release and write your release, or paste a draft you already have.
2) Choose Continue to package & payment.
3) Pick the package that fits.
4) Pay by card, or with your credits.
5) While you write, Vokolla checks the release against the editorial guidelines and points out anything likely to be rejected. Warnings never stop you.
6) Once paid, the release goes to the media network automatically.
7) Follow every step in My releases.
How fast will my release be published?
Most releases are published the same day, usually within 12 hours of approval. It varies by package: Global Impact and Podcast Reach are often faster, around 5 hours, and DoFollow Links can take about an hour.
Can I see a sample report?
Yes. Open Reports and choose the sample report: a real Vokolla release with every place it was published.
At what time is my release published?
Outlets usually publish between 10:00 and 20:00 US Eastern time. To publish at a set time, schedule the release when you submit it, at least 48 hours ahead, so there is time for the review.
What happens if my release is not published?
If the editors ask for changes, you will see their reason on the release page. Revise it there and it is submitted again automatically, up to three submissions in total.
If it still cannot be published, its credits come back to your balance.
Can I change a release after submitting it?
Not once it is under review, so check everything before you pay. While it is still waiting for review you can retract it from the release page, edit it and submit it again.
Do credits expire?
No. One credit is worth US$1 of release price and credits never expire. Larger top-ups add bonus credits.
How can I pay?
By card, or another method Stripe offers in your region, or with prepaid credits. Some cards are charged in your local currency; the invoice shows what you paid.
Will I get a report or proof of publication?
Yes. Once the release is published, its page lists every outlet with a live link, and you can download the report as a spreadsheet.
Do I get an invoice?
Yes. Invoices are in Billing & invoices, issued with the billing details from Profile & Settings.
Which topics are accepted?
See the Guidelines. Most packages do not accept sensitive topics such as crypto, gambling or adult content. Podcast Reach and DoFollow Links may accept some of them; the editors decide.
Can I publish as an individual, without a registered company?
Yes. Founders, creators, researchers and other individuals can publish. In the Company field, enter your own brand name (or your name), and add a website or a social profile as the link people can follow.
What language can my release be in?
For now, releases are published in English, the language of the outlets in our network. If your notes or draft are in Chinese or another language, use Write for me in the editor: it writes a first English draft from them for you to check.
